Get your first look at Milly Alcock as the new Kara Zor-El in DC Studios’ Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is now filming!
Exciting news, everyone! As we gear up for James Gunn’s Superman flying into theaters this summer, there’s another superhero taking the spotlight: Clark Kent’s cousin, Kara, also known as Supergirl! We’ve known that Milly Alcock would be stepping into the role of Kara Zor-El for DC Studios’ highly anticipated second feature film. However, updates about SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW have been hard to come by.
But guess what? Filming has officially kicked off in the UK, and James Gunn has shared a delightful sneak peek on social media! The first image shows Milly Alcock kicking back in a casting chair, featuring the iconic Supergirl logo in the fabric. It’s unclear if this moment is from the film itself, but it gives us a fun sneak preview of what’s to come! Check it out below.

Taking to social media, James Gun wrote: “Thrilled to see cameras roll at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie at the helm and the phenomenal Milly Alcock as our Kara Zor-El,” Gunn shared on X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter. “Craig brings an incredible sensibility to this story, and Milly is every inch the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom King, Bilquis Evely & Ana Nogueira.”
CAST
The film features a talented cast, including Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Emily Beechum as Alura, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll. It is based on the comic book miniseries of the same name by acclaimed writer Tom King and artist Bilquis Evely. Craig Gillespie directed the film.
