Apple TV+ is excited to share a first look at SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner Anya Taylor-Joy in the titular role of Apple’s new limited series “Lucky.” Based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. Hailing from Apple Studios, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and created by Jonathan Tropper, the highly anticipated series is now in production. After kicking off production in Las Vegas this week, “Lucky” will be filmed in Los Angeles.
PREMISE
“Lucky” centers on a young woman (Taylor-Joy) who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago. But must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.
The star-studded cast of the series also includes multi-Academy and Emmy Award nominee and SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner Annette Bening as “Priscilla.” Academy, Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as “Billie.” Timothy Olyphant as “John.” And Drew Starkey as “Cary,” Lucky’s husband.

Hailing from Apple Studios. “Lucky” is co-showrun, written and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper (upcoming “Your Friends & Neighbors,” “See,” “The Adam Project”) through his Tropper Ink banner and under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Alongside co-showrunner Cassie Pappas (“Silo,” “Griselda”). The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media. Anya Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner Ladykiller.
Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct several episodes, including the pilot, and serve as executive producer. Additionally, Emmy Award-winner Greg Yaitanes (“Presumed Innocent,” “House of the Dragon,” upcoming Your Friends & Neighbors”) and Jet Wilkinson (“Before,” “The Old Man,” “How to Get Away with Murder”) will each direct two episodes.
