Tom Holland’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will swing into action in July 2026 in Sony’s next live-action adventure, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
CinemaCon has been a gold mine for Spider-Man news. Not only has Sony Pictures delivered our first look at Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse, but director Destin Daniel Cretton shocked the attendees at the event by announcing the title of Sony’s next live-action Spidey adventure. The next film in Tom Holland’s Spider-Verse is officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Holland, who is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s new epic, “The Odyssey,” appeared in a video clip to announce the film’s title and confirm its release date of July 31, 2026.

“To say that it’s an honor to be standing on this stage is a pretty big understatement,” Cretton said. He explained that he was a lifelong fan of the character and had been drawn to Peter Parker’s “humor” and “messy humanity.”
TITLE TREATMENT
If that isn’t enough, Cretton and Holland revealed the film’s title treatment. Check it out below.

NEW ADVENTURES?
The title “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” references a contentious storyline from Marvel Comics that kicked off in 2008. In this arc, the world forgets who Spider-Man really is. This storyline will serve as a logical follow-up to the events of No Way Home. The climax of the story saw Peter Parker making the tough decision for all his surviving loved ones to forget his identity in order to safeguard the Multiverse.
Cretton takes on the director’s chair from Jon Watts, who recently steered Star Wars: Skeleton Crew to success at Lucasfilm. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who previously wrote No Way Home, have returned to craft the script.

RELEASE
Unfortunately, Sony is keeping the story’s details under wraps. However, Tom Holland has stated that the film represents “a fresh start” for the beloved wall-crawler. What this means for the live-action Spider-Verse is yet to be determined. Either way, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is swinging back into cinemas next year, and we are ready for it!
