Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN RUNDOWN

This week sees three re-entries into the placings. To make way for these titles, it’s a sad farewell to The Accountant, Tombstone, and The Brutalist. But what is occupying the top spot this week? Come with me if you want to find out.

THE UK IS MAD ABOUT THE BOY AT THE TOP OF THE CHART!

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is back at Number 1 on the UK’s Official Film Chart. The fourth and final film in the series rebounds to the summit in its sixth week on the chart, having previously spent two consecutive weeks at the top spot. The Michael Morris-directed movie, adapted from Helen Morris’s 2013 novel of the same name, sees Bridget (Renée Zellweger) navigate love, loss and life as a single parent.

CAPTAIN AMERICA THROWS HIS SHIELD UP THE CHART!

The fourth film featuring the character, Captain America: Brave New World, throws its shield up the chart to become this week’s Number 2.

DOG MAN BARKS UP THE PLACINGS!

2025 animated superhero comedy Dog Man leaps to a brand-new peak this week, breaking the Top 5 for the first time at Number 3. The Peter Hastings-directed film, based on Dev Pilkey’s children’s graphic novel series Dog Man, sees Hastings voice (well, bark) a hybrid dog-police officer protagonist, while Pete Davidson assumes the role of Dog Man’s archenemy, quick-thinking ginger cat Petey.

LET’S WELCOME ANORA!

This week’s highest re-entry comes courtesy of the 2024 rom-com Anora. The movie, written and directed by Sean Baker, sees Brooklyn stripper Anora “Ani” Mikheeva (played by Mikey Madison) marry Ivan “Vanya” Zakharov (Mark Eydelshteyn), the son of a rich Russian oligarch, before his parents descend upon New York in a bid to get the marriage annulled.

WICKED GETS SOME OF ITS MAGIC BACK!

The box office smash hit Wicked gets some of its magic back as it flies up to Number 7.

Cynthia Erivo is Elphaba in WICKED, directed by Jon M. Chu

SONIC RACES UP A PLACE!

HI HO ON PVOD!

This week’s offering on PVOD is a live-action remake of Disney’s Snow White. Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot play Snow White and The Wicked Queen, respectively, in this reimagining of the classic animated tale. Now, the film was a box office failure, coming nowhere near hitting the heights it was expected to. However, if you feel like sitting down with this updated version, you can rent the film for £15.99 or buy it early for £19.99.

What will be the best-selling title next week? There’s only one way to find out. Check back next week to see what’s hot and what’s not in home entertainment. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
