The latest teaser for Jurassic World: Rebirth offers a fresh look at the T-Rex raft sequence. A new trailer will be released on Tuesday!
Look out, Jurassic fans, because Universal has dropped a fresh teaser for Jurassic World Rebirth. The thirty-second sizzle reel delivers a treasure trove of new footage, including a new look at the Mosasaurus attack on the boat and the rampage of the Distortus Rex. But perhaps the most jaw-dropping is new footage from the iconic T-Rex raft sequence from the original Jurassic Park. In the original screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking 1993 epic, the raft sequence was conceptually the biggest set piece in the film. The scene was regarded as the money shot that would define the film, but sadly, it was left on the cutting room floor.

THE RAFT SEQUENCE
The scene was designed to take place on a raft-based attraction at Jurassic Park, allowing guests to navigate through the various dinosaur habitats. However, as is often the case in Jurassic Park movies, things quickly went awry. Alan Grant, Lex, and Tim were on board the river raft, heading to the visitor center, when they inadvertently awoke a sleeping Tyrannosaurus Rex.
In a frantic attempt to escape, the trio found themselves chased by the T. rex through the rapids, culminating at a waterfall. With the humans trapped between a sheer drop and the dinosaur’s snapping jaws, chaos ensued as the commotion triggered a dino stampede, making the situation even more perilous. The sequence concluded with Grant, Lex, and Tim tumbling over the waterfall’s edge and narrowly surviving the fall, while the T. rex roared in frustration above.

WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK
Fast-forward to 2025, and Gareth Edwards and David Koepp have resurrected the sequence, which now takes pride of place in the events of Jurassic World Rebirth. How the scene will unfold still remains a mystery. However, we recently learned that the Delgado family finds themselves marooned on the dino-infested research island and uses the raft to travel downriver, to what they hope is salvation. However, like the original concept, they inadvertently awaken the sleeping Tyrannosaurus, and the monster chases them downriver.
The recent trailer revealed footage of the Rex chomping through the surface of the water, trying to snatch one of the family members. But apparently, that was just the tip of the iceberg. The new teaser goes further by showing the Tyrannosaurus swimming beneath the surface before exploding from beneath the raft, hurling the family into the air. Check out the teaser below.
NEW TRAILER
This new teaser is a banger! The raft scene looks fantastic and will surely become one of the most memorable moments in the franchise. Plus, the Mosasaurus attack is just breathtaking. With the Distortus Rex rampage on top of all that, Rebirth is definitely one of the most anticipated sequels in ages. If Gareth Edwards nails it, Jurassic fans might finally get the sequel we’ve all been waiting for since the original trilogy wrapped up with Jurassic Park III.
But the news doesn’t end with the raft sequence. The teaser also confirms that a brand new trailer will be released on Tuesday, so mark the date in your diary. This teaser is just the aperitif to the main course—and it promises to be a Jurassic classic!
