At long last, Gareth Edwards’ highly anticipated entry in the Jurassic franchise officially has a title. Universal Pictures has announced that the next installment in the dinosaur saga is officially titled JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH. The film, written by Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp, has been earmarked as a fresh take on the franchise that will take the saga in a new direction.
The highly anticipated film has been fast-tracked for a July 2025 release date. With the talented Gareth Edwards at the helm as director and Scarlett Johansson set to star, the film seems destined for success. Despite the mounting excitement, fans have been left in the dark regarding what the next chapter in the franchise will entail. However, our patience was finally rewarded as Universal unveiled our first glimpse of the film.
FIRST LOOK
Check out these initial images! Even though there’s no dinosaur action yet, they show Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey in action. The second image has Mahershala Ali holding a flare in a scene that reminds us of the original Jurassic Park. Could this mean a showdown with a T-Rex is on the cards? Take a look at the images below!
LIFE FINDS A WAY!
The film will be set five years after the events of ‘JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION‘ when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
“Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived,” the synopsis continues. “The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
CHARACTERS
The studio also revealed some of the movie’s characters. Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a covert ops pro who’s been hired to lead a team that’s getting DNA from the last three huge dinosaur species. Ali plays Zora’s partner, Duncan Kincaid, and Bailey plays a paleontologist named Dr. Henry Loomis.
RELEASE
This is fantastic news! The Jurassic franchise has given us so many epic moments in movies, and JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH seems like it’s going to be another big success. It’s fantastic that Davis Koepp is back at the helm, steering the film in the right direction. And with Gareth Edwards directing, it’s guaranteed to be one of the standout hits of 2025.
