The latest teaser for Jurassic World: Rebirth offers a fresh look at Scarlett Johansson fighting off the Mosasaurus. New trailer tomorrow.
Look out, Jurassic fans, because Universal has dropped another new teaser for Jurassic World Rebirth. The thirty-second sizzle reel delivers a treasure trove of new footage, including a new look at the Mosasaurus attack on the boat. But perhaps the most jaw-dropping is the recreation of the classic eye-to-eye sequence from the original Jurassic Park.
In Steven Spielberg’s iconic franchise originator, Lex, played by Ariana Richards, finds herself frozen to the spot when the Tyrannosaurus Rex lowers its head and locks eyes with her. It was an iconic moment that Jurassic fans and cinephiles love. But now, Gareth Edwards will pay the scene the ultimate tribute by recreating the moment with Scarlett Johansson and the Mosasaurus.
EYE-TO-EYE
The new thirty-second teaser highlights the Mosasaurus attack on Zora Bennett’s vessel. As the aquatic dinosaur is one of the key species she aims to gather DNA from, Bennett, played by Johansson, must hang perilously from beneath the podium to capture the perfect shot. However, she soon becomes part of the food chain as the giant creature attempts to prey on her. In a thrilling twist, this situation brings predator and prey into close proximity, allowing director Edwards to recreate Spielberg’s iconic style spectacularly. Hold on to your seats and check out the footage below.
NEW TRAILER
This new teaser is a banger! The Mosasaurus attack is simply breathtaking. It’s clear that Gareth Edwards and David Koepp’s collaboration is yielding the closest sequel to the source material to date. Whereas Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy focused on set pieces and dino-fun, Rebirth looks to bring the story full circle by bringing the tropes and iconography that brought us to the dance back to the fore. And long may it continue. The film looks spectacular and oozes with the style and flair of a Spielberg movie. With the Distortus Rex rampage and the Tyrannosaurus Rex attack on the raft on top of all that, Rebirth is definitely one of the most anticipated sequels in ages. If Gareth Edwards nails it, Jurassic fans might finally get the sequel we’ve all been waiting for since the original trilogy wrapped up with Jurassic Park III.
The teaser also confirms that a brand new trailer will be released tomorrow, so mark the date in your diary. This teaser is just the aperitif to the main course—and it promises to be a Jurassic classic!
