First Look at the Raft Sequence in Jurassic World Rebirth

Humanity struggles for survival in the thrilling, dinosaur-infested first trailer for Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World: Rebirth.

At long last, Universal Pictures has delivered our first look at Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World: Rebirth. This July, the film emerges from its amber chrysalis and promises to take the franchise back to its roots. Boasting the writing talents of Jurassic Park’s David Koepp and the star power of Scarlett Johansson, the film promises to be a landmark addition to the Jurassic saga. But what can we expect from the movie? Will the Tyrannosaurus continue to be the franchise’s big star? Will a new dinosaur rise to the challenge? Or will life find a way to threaten humanity with extinction?

It’s time to return to the Jurassic era because Universal Pictures has pulled back the veil of secrecy and delivered the first trailer for the film – and if you were hoping for a dino-tastic rollercoaster ride, you’re in luck. The trailer delivers everything a Jurassic fan could ask for. The trailer has everything from gripping edge-of-your-seat action to daring dino escapes and even a surprise or two. But before we get ahead of ourselves, grab your Raptor claws and hit play on the trailer below.

SYNOPSIS

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

The story follows members of a recovery team—led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey—as they venture to an island near the equator that was once home to the first Jurassic Park’s research lab. The squad is trying to retrieve genetic material that could lead to a medical breakthrough for humanity, but three decades later, the mistakes made at that ruined facility have not gone away. They’ve endured—and only grown bigger.

“These are the dinosaurs that didn’t work. There’s some mutations in there,” Frank Marshall told Vanity Fair. “They’re all based on real dinosaur research, but they look a little different.”

The film is brought to life by Gareth Edwards, who directed Rogue One, with a screenplay crafted by the talented David Koepp, a true franchise veteran.

The Jurassic franchise has treated us to so many unforgettable moments over the years. Based on the new trailer, it looks like JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH is another thrilling addition to the franchise! With a fresh take on the Velociraptors and the return of the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex, the film is really ramping up the dinosaur action, and I couldn’t be more excited. The idea of revisiting the original island—the birthplace of the dinosaurs before they were transported to the first Park—is an enticing concept. Add in a terrifying new hybrid and a trio of ravenous Spinosaurs, and we’re on track for an instant Jurassic classic!

Mark your calendar because Jurassic World: Rebirth unleashes the dinosaurs in cinemas in July 2025. Are you looking forward to the film? Let us know in the comments below.
