Starring Chloë Sevigny, Alex Wolff, Joe Apollonio, and Simon Rex, Magic Farm will be available to stream on MUBI soon. Get the details here.
MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, is pleased to announce that artist and filmmaker Amalia Ulman’s (El Planeta) Magic Farm will be available to stream exclusively on MUBI from 6 June 2025.
Starring Chloë Sevigny (Monsters, Boys Don’t Cry). Alex Wolff (A Quiet Place: Day One, Oppenheimer). Joe Apollonio. Camila del Campo. Simon Rex (Red Rocket, Blink Twice) and Amalia Ulman herself. The origins of Magic Farm emerged from hipster journalism. Typified in the 2010s by Vice News, where unserious, semi-gonzo film crews visited “third world” countries in search of a bizarre story and a catchy headline.
PREMISE
In this film, a film crew working for an edgy media company travels to Argentina to profile a local musician. But their ineptitude leads them into the wrong country. As the crew collaborates with locals to fabricate a trend, unexpected connections blossom. While a pervasive health crisis looms unacknowledged in the background.
Fake it ‘til you make it. The latest gem from Amalia Ulman (El Planeta), MAGIC FARM takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey packed with twists and turns, cross-cultural encounters and true personalities.

Colourful and unfiltered, MAGIC FARM is led by a stellar ensemble that includes Chloë Sevigny, Alex Wolff, and Simon Rex. Shot with a vivid sense of place, this Berlinale and Sundance selection combines a surreal send-up of the media with a heartfelt exploration of humanity.
