Look up, Fortnite players, because Superman is returning to save the season and usher in a new age of heroes!
Look up, Fortnite players, because the Man of Steel is flying in from Metropolis and taking his rightful place at the top of every DC fan’s wishlist. With the current Fortnite x Star Wars season coming to a close today, the key art for next season has emerged from the Phantom Zone. The stunning key art, revealed by regular leaker Shiina, features a string of Fortnite-generated superheroes. But taking pride of place among them is Batman’s legendary sidekick, Robin. You heard right, Dick Grayson is swooping in from Gotham City to add some DC awesomeness to the battle pass. But the fun doesn’t end there, because rising above the rest is James Gunn’s new Superman!
That’s right, David Corenswet’s new Man of Steel is swooping into Fortnite soon, and the skin looks sensational. The latest Superman suit looks slightly warmer than it does in the trailer and TV spots to date, but that won’t dampen any DC fan’s excitement one bit. Take a look at the key art below.
THE MAN OF STEEL
We’ve known that Superman would be making a welcome return to the game for some time. However, this is our first real glimpse of the new skin, and fans are rightfully excited. Sadly, at this time, we don’t know where or how Superman will feature in the season. But given that James Gunn’s blockbuster doesn’t launch globally until July 11, fans should expect the Man of Steel to be this season’s secret skin. Unfortunately, that means the skin won’t be available until the film arrives in cinemas, but it gives us plenty to look forward to.
Given that Superman and Robin are making their debut this season, fans can now look forward to a sensational season. But can we expect more characters from James Gunn’s new DC Universe to be featured in the item shop? The DC head honcho recently sat down with the Fortnite team to discuss which characters should make the transition to the map, so there’s plenty of room for Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and more to swoop into the shop.
NEW SEASON
Sadly, until the Battle Pass is fully revealed, this amounts to little more than expectation and speculation. But with the key art confirming the debut of Superman and Robin, the sky is the limit for the DC Universe this season, and long may it reign. A new DC collaboration is way overdue, and players will be salivating at the possibilities that await them, especially as sidekicks like Krypto have been rumored to be available as usable companions in the game. But what else does Epic Games have up its sleeve?
