THE OFFICIAL UK TOP TEN

This week, the chart placements have shifted dramatically. We have one new entry and four re-entries. Mickey 17, Warfare, The Wild Robot, Snow White, and Dog Man are making way for these arrivals. But what is topping the chart tree this week? Is it a holdover, a climber, or that single new entry? No prizes for guessing the answer!

THERE’S NO BEATING MINECRAFT!

A Minecraft Movie makes it three consecutive weeks atop the Official Film Chart.

THE CHART GETS SOME SINNERS!

Sinners secures this week’s highest new entry, straight in at Number 3. The Ryan Coogler-directed supernatural horror Sinners follows identical twins and World War I veterans Smoke and Stack Moore (Michael B. Jordan), who return to Clarksdale, Mississippi, following a stint working at the Chicago Outfit. Joined by cousin Sammie Moore (Miles Caton), the trio start a juke joint with money stolen from racist landowner Hogwood (Dave Maldonado). But, with Smoke and Stack’s pastor father Jedidiah’s (Saul Williams) warnings that blues music is supernatural, will their plans be thrown off course?

THE MAGIC RETURNS FOR WICKED!

After thinking it was on its way out of the top ten last week, Wicked gets some magic back. The musical flies up five places to Number 4. This could be thanks to the release of the trailer for the second and concluding part, Wicked For Good, last week.

WILL YOU SURVIVE UNTIL DAWN?

This week’s offering on PVOD is the movie adaptation of the classic video game horror, Until Dawn. It is set in the same universe, featuring an original standalone story that expands upon the game’s mythology. It stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, and Belmont Cameli as a group of friends who end up in a secluded area embedded with a time loop mechanic; a threat is out to hunt them where dying restarts the night with a new threat each time, and the only solution is to survive until morning. Peter Stormare also stars, reprising his role from the game. If this sounds like your perfect night’s entertainment, rent it for £15.99 or buy it early for £19.99.
