Clueless, Back In Cinemas To Celebrate Its 30th Birthday This June

Paramount Pictures launches a global celebration for the 30th anniversary of the comedy classic Clueless. Coming to cinemas soon.

30 years old? AS IF! 30 years after it was originally released on July 19, 1995, CLUELESS remains a whip-smart comedy that hilariously captures teen life in the 1990s. Much like its heroine, CLUELESS is enduringly popular, timeless and iconic. Thanks to its uproarious story, enchanting performances, incredible costumes, and endlessly quotable script. In celebration of its milestone 30th birthday, Paramount Pictures has launched a global celebration for the film. It opens in UK and Irish cinemas on June 27th. THE PREMISE

Inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, writer/director Amy Heckerling’s beloved film stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, a rich, popular, and exceedingly stylish high school student who loves helping others with her wisdom on dating, fashion and looking good. But when it comes to matters of the heart, she’s…clueless. The film also boasts a sensational ensemble cast including Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison, Stacey Dash, Jeremy Sisto, Breckin Meyer, Elisa Donovan, and Wallace Shawn.

Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school’s pecking order. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realises that her disapproving ex-stepbrother was right about how misguided she was — and falls for him.
