Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Jim Lee’s Golden Age ‘Pen & Ink’ Superman Swooping into Fortnite on July 11!
Look up, Fortnite fans, because Jim Lee’s Golden Age Superman is coming to the Fortnite ‘Pen & Ink’ collection. The retro comic book look of Superman has been revealed by regular leaker Shiina as the second skin variant in the current Battle Pass today. The character has been designed by legendary DC maestro Jim Lee, who has also contributed an all-new Superman loading screen for our enjoyment.
The set, included as the secret skin in the ‘SUPER’ battle pass, will be available to unlock on July 11 and comes with a host of fabulous accessories. Players will unlock a movie-themed emote, Superman’s Pen & Ink Cape, a banner, two loading screens, a crystal hammer pickaxe, and the Man of Steel himself. This set is the second part of the Superman bundle, which includes David Corenswet’s new Man of Steel from James Gunn’s upcoming blockbuster movie.
THE JIM LEE TOUCH
It is wonderful to see Jim Lee contributing to the new DC collection in Fortnite. The DC legend has been on hand to deliver some of the most iconic looks for our superheroes for decades. So, fans can enjoy playing as one of the artist’s best designs from July 11.
If that isn’t enough, the Fortress of Solitude is coming to the Fortnite map today. As soon as the update is complete, players can visit Superman’s icy fortress and enjoy the whole movie experience. The Man of Steel’s beloved pet, Krypto, is already available on the map and can be used as a mythic weapon. He is expected to be available as a sidekick character at some point in the future. So, this is the summer of Superman, and the Man of Steel is here to stay!
UNLOCK DAVID CORENSWET EARLY
We recently revealed how you can unlock David Corenswet’s new Man of Steel in Fortnite early. In a Fortnite first, players were offered the chance to buy levels, unlocking the character early. To learn how to add him to your collection ahead of his July 11th release, hit the link here.
But what else does Epic Games have up its sleeve? James Gunn recently sat down with the Fortnite team to discuss which characters should make the transition to the map, so there’s plenty of room for Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and more to swoop into the shop. Let’s hope for some SUPER additions to the DC roster soon.
