The First Poster for Fallout Season 2 Emerges From the Vault at Prime Video

Prime Video has shared the first poster for Fallout Season 2; get ready to return to the Wasteland!

Prime Video has shared the first poster for the upcoming second season of Fallout. The landmark series debuted on the streamer last year and quickly became one of the platform’s most-streamed properties ever, rivaling The Rings of Power! As a result, with season 2 emerging from the Vault in December, the streamer has already given the go-ahead for a third season.

In my FIVE-STAR review of the first season, I said: “Prime Video has spared no expense on this series; the results are impressive. The show’s palette is incredibly rich, and the scale is off the charts. You’ll be in your element here if you have a penchant for Mad Max movies. Fortunately, the series has enough merit to satisfy gaming enthusiasts and movie buffs. If Nolan, Lisa Joy, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Graham Wagner aimed to raise the bar for video game adaptations, they succeeded. Fallout is another smash hit for Prime Video.” Read the full review here.

MORE FROM THE WASTELAND

The series comes from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Nolan directed the first three episodes of Season One. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, creators, and co-showrunners. In its first four days of release, the high-octane fuelled series has become a hit with its global audience, ranking among the service’s top three most-watched titles ever and the most-watched season globally since Rings of Power. The debut season of Fallout premiered exclusively on Prime Video on Wednesday 10 April, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

AMAZON MGM

“Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have captivated the world with this ground-breaking, wild ride of a show. The bar was high for lovers of this iconic video game and so far, we seem to have exceeded their expectations, while bringing in millions of new fans to the franchise. The cast led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan have knocked it out of the park!,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios. “We’d like to thank Jonah and Lisa and our friends at Bethesda for bringing the show to us as well as Geneva and Graham for coming aboard as showrunners. We are thrilled to announce season two after only one week out and take viewers even farther into the surreal world of Fallout.”

THE SERIES

Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.

Ella Purnell is Lucy, an optimistic Vault-dweller with an all-American can-do spirit. Her peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when she is forced to the surface to rescue her father. Aaron Moten is Maximus, a young soldier who rises to the rank of squire in the militaristic faction called the Brotherhood of Steel. He will do anything to further the Brotherhood’s goals of bringing law and order to the wasteland. Walton Goggins is the Ghoul, a morally ambiguous bounty hunter who holds within him a 200-year history of the post-nuclear world. These disparate parties collide when chasing an artefact from an enigmatic researcher that has the potential to radically change the power dynamic in this world.

THE POSTER

As promised, the streamer’s new poster for the upcoming second season is available below. The glorious one-sheet features Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins as they traverse the wasteland on the way to New Vegas.

SEASON 2

FALLOUT has quickly established itself as one of the best game adaptations in film. It features exceptional storytelling and stunning cinematography that effectively captures the vastness and horror of a post-apocalyptic world. The standout element of the film is its fantastic cast. Ella Purnell delivers a sensational performance as Lucy, while Aaron Moten gives a masterful portrayal of Maximus. However, Walton Goggins is the highlight, with many calling it his best performance to date.

Goggins is a revelation as The Ghoul, a radiated, mutated version of the man he used to be. Even though he has adopted a morally ambiguous attitude in the two hundred years since the nuclear holocaust, the essence of his humanity remains intact. These hallmarks make for a beautiful antihero for whom we can all root. Suppose Jonathan Nolan and his fantastic team of creatives can replicate the previous season’s success and deliver another great one. In that case, fans can be confident that FALLOUT is here to stay. And I am here for it!

RELEASE

What an enticing first poster! Thankfully, we only have to wait until December for the next set of episodes. However, the first season is highly rewatchable and will keep fans engaged until the new episodes are released. So, while we wait, saddle up, lock and load, and return to the Wasteland for a rewatch worth its weight in caps! I’ll be staying in Shady Sands with a cool cup of radiated water… don’t ask where it comes from!
