Dogwoof Announces The UK Release Date For David Osit’s Gripping Thriller Predators

Following critical acclaim after its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Predators is coming to UK cinemas from Dogwoof.
Following critical acclaim from its World Premiere at Sundance Film Festival, Dogwoof has acquired the UK rights from MTV Documentary Films. MTV Documentary Films are releasing PREDATORS in theatres across the USA starting on 19th September. Predators will open in UK cinemas on 14th November.
Directed by David Osit (Mayor, Thank You For Playing), the film is a chilling, edge-of-your-seat documentary. It delves into the murk of human nature to observe hunter, predator, subject, and spectator alike. All are ensnared in a complicated web of entertainment as far as the eye can see.
THE PREMISE
A cultural sensation from its inception in the early 2000s, Dateline NBC’s candid-camera investigative series To Catch a Predator ensnared sex offenders. It lured them to a film set, where they would be interviewed and arrested while cameras rolled. The show was a hit and transformed its host, Chris Hansen, into a moral crusader and TV star. It also spawned a worldwide industry of imitators and vigilantes. But, why did audiences watch so voraciously — and why do audiences continue to devour its web-based, clickbait-driven offshoots?
Looking back on the show and the countless franchises it spawned, filmmaker David Osit turns his camera on journalists, actors, law enforcers, academics, and ultimately himself, to trace America’s obsession with watching people at their lowest.
