Jackie Chan and Leung Ka Fai Tony Star In The Trinity CineAsia Action Movie, The Shadow's Edge

The action legend Jackie Chan meets his match in Leung Ka Fai Tony in the upcoming Trinity CineAsia movie, The Shadow’s Edge.

Has the legendary action star Jackie Chan FINALLY met his match? That’s the intriguing prospect in his latest movie. The action star returns to UK cinemas on October 3rd with The Shadow’s Edge. Tony Leung Ka-fai plays his nemesis, Fu Lung-sang/The Shadow. He is a criminal mastermind who has been a fugitive for over 20 years. The cast also features Zhang Zifeng, Ci Sha and Wen Junhui. Chan reunites with the director Larry Yang after their previous collaboration, 2023’s Ride On. Yang also provides the screenplay. It is loosely adapted from the 2007 film Eye in the Sky, which Yang admires greatly. Check out the trailer for the film below.

PREMISE

Get ready for the latest film starring the legendary Jackie Chan, where he takes on a notorious criminal gang unlike any he has faced before.

When a cyber-criminal gang disappears with billions, evading capture by outsmarting the Police’s formidable “Sky Eye” surveillance system, they desperately enlist the help of a legend. Wong Tak-Chung (Jackie Chan), a retired tracking expert, mentors rookie officer He Qiuguo (Zhang Zifeng, Aftershock, Upcoming) and rebuilds an elite surveillance unit. Their mission: to track down the elusive “Wolf King,” Fu Longsheng (Leung Ka Fai Tony, Election, Cold War), the mastermind behind the heist. As the police close in, the thieves spring a trap of their own. Brains collide, loyalties face challenges, and the ultimate cat-and-mouse game is about to start…

From award-winning writer-director Larry Yang (Ride On, Mountain Cry), Jackie Chan and Leung Ka-Fai Tony reunite for the first time in twenty years, following their collaboration on The Myth. Now, the 71-year-old Chan plays a retired police officer, a role that continues his long-standing portrayal of law enforcement figures on screen. The Shadow’s Edge references elements of his Police Story character while offering a contemporary take on the “veteran cop” archetype.

LEUNG KA FAI TONY

Leung Ka-Fai Tony has dominated the screen throughout his varied career. Never repeating the same role twice, he was inspired to step back into portraying a villain in this updated, modernised take on Eye in the Sky. At 67, the four-time Hong Kong Film Awards’ Best Actor winner, who has largely focused on arthouse films, achieves a new breakthrough with this highly demanding role, showing both the psychology and physicality of this elite criminal.
