It’s time to return to Oz! Check out the new IMAX-themed character posters from Universal’s enchanting sequel, Wicked For Good.
We are still several weeks away from the release of Jon M. Chu’s Wicked For Good, but Universal Pictures is firing up the hype tornado to whisk us back to Oz. Today, the studio released two new IMAX-themed character posters for the film featuring Glinda and Elphaba. But if that isn’t enough, the studios’ collaboration with Dolby has also yielded a fresh new poster featuring our beloved Witches of Oz. On the first character poster, Elphaba is pictured conjuring from the book of spells atop her mountain castle. Glinda, on the other hand, is seen walking down the stairs of her chamber within the walls of the Emerald City. Check them out below.

DOLBY
As mentioned above, Dolby also entered the fray with a suitably impressive new poster. Featuring the company’s signature twins D’s, the poster features Glinda and Elphaba as they encounter each other on the Yellow Brick Road. But will they be adversaries? Or is their friendship strong enough to endure being pitted on either side of the battlefield? Take a look below.

SYNOPSIS
After challenging the Wizard’s totalitarian regime in Oz, Elphaba must grapple with her identity as the “Wicked Witch of the West”. Meanwhile, the Wizard has given Glinda the title “Glinda the Good” and a public status as the nation’s defender against Elphaba. The two witches must make decisions that seal their fates in this second musical installment.

CAST & CREW
Director Jon M. Chu has assembled a fantastic cast to bring this magical sequel to the screen. The cast includes Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s regal headmistress Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz. Rounding out the cast are Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Marissa Bode in her feature-film debut.
In my review of the first film, I said: “Jon M. Chu’s Wicked is a dazzling visual spectacle that works wonders with its material but falls short of brilliance. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-Butera deliver powerhouse performances that overcome some truly eye-rolling dialogue to whisk us back to Oz with a musical blast. The cinematography is breathtaking, the score is superb, and the musical numbers are flawless. However, fans of the original movie will be put off by the narrative changes that cast an unfavorable light on some of the IP’s legacy characters.” Read my full review here.

RELEASE
What a stunning collection of posters. The sequel looks like it’s going to be an amazing musical adventure that’ll take us back to the magical land of Oz with aplomb. With the battle lines drawn and the arrival of Dorothy Gale imminent, Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship is about to be tested to its limits. So, the burning question is: will the Wizard’s plan come to fruition? Or will the love between the Witches of Oz overcome all? From the awesome poster designs, we can’t wait to hit the Yellow Brick Road and dive into the magic of Oz again. Whether it’s “Wicked” or not doesn’t really matter!
Wicked For Good will sprinkle UK cinemas with magic on November 21, 2025.
