Double the terror! The Horror Of Frankenstein and The Scars Of Dracula are coming to 4K UHD worldwide! Hammer brings the chills!
Prepare yourselves for a spine-tingling 1970s double bill like no other. SCARS OF DRACULA and THE HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN make their worldwide 4K UHD debuts on November 24, with a superb brand new 4K restoration. The Collector’s Editions feature stunning new artwork by Johnny Dombrowski. They also include two posters and a 64-page perfect-bound booklet with new essays. Additionally, the original press kit is included. These editions are packed with extras.
Hammer released both films in November 1970 as a double feature in cinemas, promoting them as “the blood-brothers of horror and terror, together in the most terrifying monster shock show of the year.” STUDIOCANAL pays homage to the legendary British horror film production company. They are releasing both these worldwide 4K UHD debuts on the same day.
THE PREMISES
Christopher Lee returned to his most famous role. This was inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic gothic horror novel. It was for the fifth time in Roy Ward Baker’s (Quatermass and the Pit) SCARS OF DRACULA. This is the bloodiest entry in the entire series. The film also stars Dennis Waterman (The Sweeney), Jenny Hanley (The Flesh and Blood Show), and genre favourite Patrick Troughton (The Omen).
Hammer legend Jimmy Sangster (The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula) made his directorial debut with THE HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN. It is based on the groundbreaking Mary Shelley horror novel. It was a bold experiment in horror comedy. This film features an outstanding cast, including Hammer film favourites Ralph Bates (Twins of Evil), Kate O’Mara (The Vampire Lovers), and Veronica Carlson (Dracula Has Risen From The Grave). Additionally, the film stars David Prowse (Star Wars) as the Monster, Jon Finch (Frenzy), and Dennis Price (Horror Hospital).
This pair of Hammer 1970s classics – with fantastic performances, lashings of blood, and superb production values – are a great addition to any Hammer fans collection. They look better than ever before.
