Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN

Apologies for the late reporting of this week’s chart. This is due to my working at The BFI London Film Festival. So, for this week and the next week, the chart will be unusually short. However, it will be back in full swing from the 22nd October. So, let’s see what’s making waves in the official chart this week.

Official Film Chart

(1) THE NAKED GUN

The laughs are back at the top of the chart this week as The Naked Gun (2025) storms straight to Number 1 on the Official UK Film Chart, marking a triumphant debut for Paramount’s reboot of the beloved comedy franchise. The film’s razor-sharp parody and slapstick antics have clearly struck a chord with audiences, putting it ahead of some serious blockbuster competition.

Paul Walter Hauser plays Ed Hocken Jr. and Liam Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr. in The Naked Gun from Paramount Pictures.

(2) HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

Flying in at Number 2, How to Train Your Dragon (2025) reignites the beloved franchise with stunning animation and a powerful emotional core. The film reintroduces Hiccup and Toothless in an all-new adventure that bridges the gap between Vikings and dragons once again. Critics have hailed it as a visually spectacular and deeply moving return to Berk that delights long-time fans and new viewers alike.
