At long last, the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 has emerged from the toy box. Since its launch, the series has always enjoyed putting our heroic toys in peril, especially when it comes to being replaced. From new toys to newer models, Buzz and Woody have always faced adversity to stay relevant and keep themselves in the toy box. But this time, they find themselves facing a much greater adversary…technology!
The technology in question is a tablet named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. The new device is eight-year-old Bonnie Anderson’s new favourite plaything. So, can Buzz, Woody, and the gang overcome a new generation of kids who prioritize screens over playthings? Let’s explore the trailer and find out.
SYNOPSIS
The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” and this time around, it’s Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head-to-head with this all-new threat to playtime. Directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by McKenna Harris, and produced by Jessica Choi, “Toy Story 5” opens only in theaters on June 19, 2026.
VOICE CAST
Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, and Joan Cusack are reprising their roles as Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie, respectively. The voice cast also includes Ernie Hudson, who will be taking over the role of Combat Carl, previously voiced by the late Carl Weathers, and Tony Hale, who voices Forky. New additions to the cast include Conan O’Brien, who plays Smarty Pants.
