REVIEWS
We were lucky enough to catch del Toro’s Frankenstein back in October and instantly fell in love with the director’s vision for the film. In our reactions, Carl Roberts said, “Del Toro’s Frankenstein is a masterpiece of filmmaking. From start to finish, this astonishing version of the story is perfection. An outstanding cast makes the film a cinematic gem, but it’s Jacob Elordi who steals the film. Cannot praise it highly enough.”
And I said, “Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is a monstrous triumph. The director’s signature style and unique vision have crafted a truly exceptional adaptation of Mary Shelley’s tale. With its incredible heart, stunning soundtrack, and breathtaking cinematography, it’s a rare gem.”
When it came time to review the film, Carl could not hide his admiration, which he awarded a rare FIVE STARS. In his glowing review, he said: “Guillermo del Toro has delivered his masterpiece. His version of Frankenstein is the definitive version of the classic novel. With a superb, moody, and elegant score from the composer Alexandre Desplat to accompany the narrative, the film just feels perfect. Combined with del Toro’s screenplay adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel and his directorial style and vision, the film is the perfect match.” Read his full review here.
