Sky has unveiled a first look image of Golden Globe and BAFTA award nominee Tahar Rahim (The Serpent, Un Prophète) and Scottish BAFTA award-winner Izuka Hoyle (Boiling Point, Big Boys) in Prisoner, a high-stakes Sky Original action thriller coming in 2026. Created and written by acclaimed writer Matt Charman (Hostage, Bridge of Spies) and directed by BAFTA-winner Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders), the six-part series follows a deadly manhunt where trust can be fatal.
PREMISE
The series follows Amber (Hoyle), a principled young prison transport officer tasked with escorting Tibor (Rahim), a trained killer and high-value inmate, to court to testify against his elite crime syndicate. When their convoy is brutally ambushed, she’s forced to put her life in his hands. As the sole survivors, handcuffed and on the run, they must race to reach their destination alive and on time.
Along the way, their uneasy alliance is tested as the syndicate closes in. Trust becomes a weapon and their shackled survival a moral dilemma, forcing Amber to confront how far she’ll go to protect what matters most.

O’Byrne (Conclave, The Wonder) and Youssef Kerkour (Lockerbie: A Search For Truth).
SERIES CREDITS
“Prisoner” comes from Binocular in collaboration with Sky Studios. Showrunner Matt Charman created and wrote the series, while Haleema Mizra acts as the deputy showrunner and writer. Otto Bathurst directs the series, with Pia Strietmann taking over the direction for later episodes. Executive producers are Matt Charman, Foz Allan, Otto Bathurst, and Adrian Sturges for Sky Studios. Barney Reisz serves as series producer. The series will be available on Sky in the UK and Ireland, with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handling international sales. The production received support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.
Prisoner will launch on Sky and streaming service NOW in the 2026 season.
