Toph finally makes her debut on the first trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, coming to Netflix in 2026
Look out, Earthbenders, because the first trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 has emerged from Netflix. The glorious trailer reunites us with our beloved heroes, Aang, Katara, Sokka, Momo, and Appa, as they continue their quest to stop the Fire Nation. But joining the party for the new season is our beloved fiery earthbender, Toph.
The new trailer is packed with Avatar iconography. From Aang swooping through the air on his air glider to Katara beginning to master her waterbending abilities, the trailer has it all. For a final flourish, we see Toph unleashing her power and crafting some rock fists. But before we start channeling the power of the Avatar, scroll down and check out the trailer below.
NEW SEASON, SAME BRILLIANT CAST
So what can we expect from the second season? As the trailer suggests, the Fire Nation is once again closing in on Aang and his team. They are continuing their quest to master the elements. Their quest will take them to Ba Sing Se in the Earth Kingdom. There, Aang hopes to find a teacher to help him master the art of earthbending. This is where we will meet Toph. She’s often underestimated due to her blindness and small stature. However, as the teaser shows, her unique fighting style and seismic strength are not to be trifled with.
Netflix recently announced that Miya Cech had been cast as the fiery, blind earthbender. Fans will be hoping she hits the ground running in season 2. She joins returning cast members Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai), Momona Tamada (Ty Lee), and Thalia Tran (Mai).

Other new additions to the cast for season 2 include Chin Han as Long Feng, Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, and Rekha Sharma as Amita. Rounding out the new additions are Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong, Dolly de Leon as Lo and Li, Lily Gao as Ursa, and Madison Hu. Finally, Dichen Lachman completes the cast as Yangchen.

Although season 2 is right around the corner, Netflix is eager to complete the saga and has already greenlit a third and final season. Confirmed to be joining the cast for Season 3 are Jon Jon Briones, who will play Piandao, and Tantoo Cardinal, who will play Hama. Filming for season 3 has already wrapped, so be ready for fresh updates from the Fire Nation soon.

RELEASE
What a phenomenal first trailer. The landmark first season of the series was a joy to watch. Although it was an inferior adaptation when compared to the classic animated series, there was plenty to enjoy. Season 2 promises to build on the first season’s triumph. But one thing is for sure: with Toph now joining the gang for the second season, the show went from epic to unmissable, and we are ready for it.
