Sharpen Your Swords! Red Sonja Is Coming To Wreak Havoc On Prime Video!

Matilda Lutz is a badass barbarian on a mission in the remake of Red Sonja. Check out the trailer for the film, coming soon to Prime Video.

Sharpen your swords and get ready for battle. Red Sonja is back! Forty years after her last movie adaptation, the flame-haired warrior returns. The film, which stormed the charts this summer, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting 27 Dec. A sword-and-sorcery revival of the 1985 classic, the film stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge) and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy). The film has been in gestation for many years. Everyone from Robert Rodriguez to Bryan Singer was planning their own remake of the original movie, based on the comic book. Among the actresses rumoured to be taking on the role included Amber Heard, Rose McGowan and Hannah John-Kamen.

Now, Matilda Lutz has taken up the mantle held initially by Brigitte Nielsen. And no, there is no  Arnold Schwarzenegger as Lord Kalidor this time! Actually, it was supposed to be the actor reprising his role as Conan the Barbarian in the film, but the makers couldn’t get a deal to use the character in the 1985 movie. It is time to witness the rise of a hero once again. Let’s see what we can expect from the film with the official trailer.
