New HBO Max Teaser Reveals Our First look at DC's Lanterns

A new 2026 sizzle reel from HBO Max has revealed a new look at Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan in DC Studios’ Lanterns.

Despite Warner Bros. effectively becoming part of the Netflix empire, the global rollout of HBO Max is still in full swing. With 2026 poised to be a landmark year for the streamer, a new sizzle reel has been released, teasing the impressive slate of content we can expect to enjoy. From Euphoria to Dune Prophecy, there is a treasure trove of content coming to the streamer next year. But leading the charge is DC’s next tentpole television offering, Lanterns.

The series, set in the Green Lantern Corps, follows recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic officers drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. The sizzle reel reveals the pair traveling in a car together until Jordan relinquishes his ring and places it on the dashboard. Then all hell breaks loose. Get your first look below.

RELEASE

What an exciting first look. The Green Lantern Corps has been sidelined in the DC Universe for too long, and we welcome its return to James Gunn’s revamped DCU. Starting with Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, the Green Lantern is back on the game board, and that is an exciting prospect.

Sadly, DC Studios hasn’t committed to a timeframe for the series. However, with the show moving along the assembly line at a pace, hopefully, the Green Lantern will be back, bringing joy to our lives soon.

Lanterns will reunite us with the Green Lantern Corps…sometime in 2026!
