It will premiere in the United States in February 2026. It is based on the 2020 novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones. The film stars Harry Melling as a young gay man and Alexander Skarsgård as a biker gang leader who start a BDSM relationship. We saw the film at the BFI London Film Festival and enjoyed it. Our editor, Phil Roberts, had this to say about the film:

Harry Lighton’s #Pillion is a charming coming-of-age story with bags of edge. Harry Melling dazzles as the inexperienced youngster being dominated by the always reliable Alexander Skarsgård.

Slick, sexy, tender and often graphic, this film is a gem of British cinema.#LFF

I had this to say about the film:

#Pillion is a decent comedy drama that is stylishly told and woven.

Alexander Skarsgard and Harry Melling are wonderfully cast as dominant and submissive in their relationship.

It’s not for everyone, but it is entertaining and elegantly told.
