A24 has revealed the terrifying trailer for Ian Tuason’s Undertone, starring Nina Kiri.
A24 has shared a new trailer for Ian Tuason’s upcoming chiller, Undertone. The forthcoming horror/thriller stars Nina Kiri and follows a podcast host who receives a series of unsettling audio recordings. However, once she listens to them, all manner of creepy paranormal events begin to manifest, shredding her nerves, as well as her sanity.
Although Kiri is the only actor to appear on camera, Adam DiMarco, Michèle Duquet, Keana Lyn Bastidas, and Jeff Yung also appear in the cast. But the film’s main antagonist is its chilling soundscape. Director Tuason has described the film’s theme as a “found audio” element, reinforcing its chilling tone. So, grab a cushion to hide behind and hit play on the trailer below.
SYNOPSIS
Undertone follows the host of an ‘all-things-creepy’ podcast, who moves into her dying mother’s house to be her primary caregiver. When her podcast is sent 10 audio recordings of a young pregnant couple experiencing paranormal noises, she realizes the woman’s story is a mirror of her own and each new recording scratches at her sanity, drawing her into a fate she cannot escape.
OFFICIAL POSTER
If the new trailer isn’t enough to have you canceling your Podcast subscriptions, A24 has also shared the first poster for the film. The glorious one-sheet features an audio recording graphic with the headline “It wants to be heard” embedded in its code. Take a look below.

RELEASE
What a phenomenal trailer. We love a paranormal adventure here at Future of the Force, and the thought of a “found audio” project featuring all manner of ghostly goings-on is right up our alley. Rumor has it the team at Blumhouse is so impressed with Tuason’s vision that he is being eyed to helm the next Paranormal Activity flick. So if Undertone hits big, Tuason could become a horror staple for decades to come, and that is a tantalizing prospect.
All will be revealed when Undertone terrifies cinemas on Friday, March 13.
