The classic Hammer horror movie Blood From The Mummy’s Tomb is coming in a worldwide premiere release in 4K UHD from Studiocanal.
A severed hand beckons from an open grave… BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY’S TOMB makes its worldwide 4K UHD debut on April 6. It features an astounding brand new 4K Dolby Vision restoration. The Collector’s Edition includes superb new artwork by Johnny Dombrowski and two posters. Moreover, it includes a 64-page perfect-bound booklet featuring new essays, the original press kit, and a host of fascinating extras.
The film is adapted from a novel by Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, and directed by Seth Holt, known for Taste of Fear. Christopher Wickling wrote the script for this 1971 production. Wickling also wrote DEMONS OF THE MIND. This is STUDIOCANAL’s other Hammer release in April. The film features dazzling cinematography and production design from Hammer regulars Arthur Grant (DEMONS OF THE MIND and STUDIOCANAL’s March release FEAR IN THE NIGHT) and Scott MacGregor (Vampire Circus). Furthermore, Christopher Wickling scripted the film.

THE CAST
With a cast including Andrew Keir (who stepped in when Peter Cushing had to withdraw from the production), James Villers (Asylum), and the magnificent Valerie Leon (Carry on Matron) in two roles, BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY’S TOMB is a genuinely entertaining treat, filled with fantastic set pieces, gruesome moments, and a suitably eerie score by Tristram Cary (Quatermass and the Pit).
Starburst magazine calls it a “satisfying addition to the Mummy series of films”, with Hammer expert David Huckvale adding “without doubt Hammer’s most fascinating ancient Egyptian horror film”. The new 4K release features brand new extras detailing the troubled behind-the-scenes of the film – an outstanding release that any self-respecting Hammer fan and classic horror aficionado will want to wrap their cloth-covered hands around.

THE PREMISE
At the moment archaeologist Julian Fuchs (Andrew Keir) and his expedition team discover the tomb of the evil ancient Egyptian Queen Tera (Valerie Leon), his daughter Margaret (also Leon) is born exactly in Tera’s image. Years later, Corbeck (James Villiers) wishes to resurrect Tera and use her immense power for his own nefarious ends. With Margaret’s help, they hunt down the relics required for the occult ceremony in which Tera’s soul, that has been sojourning in the identical body of Margaret, will be transferred to her preserved corpse…
