The new film finds Dragon child Kanna Kamui facing a major dilemma: having to decide between her biological dragon family and her newfound human family.

Crunchyroll today announced Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved, coming to select cinemas in the UK for a limited engagement on the 4th and 5th of March 2026via Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures Entertainment, and will be subtitled in English.

For the first time ever, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved will bring the franchise’s warmth, humour, and sense of found family to cinemas in a character-driven film, rooted in charm and emotional sincerity. This brand-new title reflects Crunchyroll’s promise of offering everything for everyone.

SYNOPSIS

Miss Kobayashi, Tohru, Kanna, and Iruru’s peaceful lives shatter when Kanna’s father, Kimun Kamui, the ruthless leader of the chaos faction, storms in and demands she return to the Dragon World to correct a past mistake. As tensions flare between Chaos and Harmony, Kanna faces the daunting challenge of uniting the two worlds. She grapples with her loyalty to her friends and the pressure of her father’s demands, forcing her to make an impossible choice. Miss Kobayashi, however, refuses to let her go and tries to mend the broken bond between Kanna and her father. As dragons clash, Iruru uncovers a hidden force manipulating the war. Can they stop the war before it consumes both worlds?
