Black Bear releases a teaser trailer and the release date for writer/ director Damian McCarthy’s Adam Scott-starring horror movie, Hokum.
Writer and director Damian McCarthy is returning to UK & Irish cinemas later this year with his latest horror movie, Hokum. The film, McCarthy’s third full-length movie, opens on May 1st. After his first two efforts, the brilliant and scary Caveat (2020) and Oddity (2024), McCarthy is back on common ground with his new effort. Adam Scott takes the lead role in a tale of an author. The author travels to a remote part of Ireland to spread the ashes of his deceased parents. He is unaware that his rented accommodation could be haunted. Also featuring Peter Coonan, David Wilmot and Austin Amelio, a teaser trailer for the film has arrived to scare the pants off us. Take a look below:
THE PREMISE
When reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman (Scott) retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind. Soon, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw him into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.
