The cast of The Institute Season is expanding with the addition of Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen.Â
Look out, Stephen King fans, because the cast of The Institute on MGM+ is expanding. The streamer has announced that Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen is joining the cast as Nolan Reeves, an eccentric European tech billionaire and one of the Institute’s financial backers with an ambitious agenda all his own. Allen joins returning cast members Ben Barnes, Mary-Louise Parker, Joe Freeman, Simone Miller, Fionn Laird, Robert Joy, Arlen So, Jeff Fahey, and Hannah Galway in the series’ next chapter. But what can we expect from the new season? Let’s dig a little deeper and find out.

SYNOPSIS
The Institute Season Two picks up Luke Ellis, Tim Jamieson, and their fellow survivors in the immediate aftermath of Season One’s explosive climax as they work to expose the Institute’s crimes while staying one step ahead of the army of killers on their tail. Meanwhile, the ruthless and calculating Ms. Sigsby pursues her quest for vengeance and a return to power, in the process discovering more about the deep inner workings of the Institute than she ever could have imagined.
REVIEW
I had a blast with the first season of The Institute. In my glowing review of the show, I said, “Fear not, King fans, because The Institute is an absolute triumph. The series delivers a wonderfully layered, rich, compelling, and entertaining adaptation of King’s novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat for weeks to come. With its impressive performances by its three leads and the masterwork of Bender behind the camera, the series is an engrossing slow burn. Bender doesn’t waste a second of Benjamin Cavell’s expertly layered screenplay and uses the material to build the tension as each episode progresses. The series ends with a wonderfully weighted climax that will delight and tantalize the audience with the potential of what lies ahead. In the end, the series delivers a thoroughly enjoyable eight-episode rollercoaster ride of edge-of-your-seat suspense that will leave its mark — a hallmark of a great thriller.” Read my full review here.
