Ahead of its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, Mubi shares the new clip from Rosebush Pruning from director Karim Aїnouz.
MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, are pleased to share a new clip of Rosebush Pruning, the latest feature film from Karim Aїnouz (Motel Destino, Firebrand, Invisible Life).
Rosebush Pruning will be competing for the Golden Bear at the upcoming 76th Berlin International Film Festival, and stars Callum Turner (Masters of the Air, The Boys in the Boat), Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & The Six, Zola), Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocketman), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, Euphoria), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In, MotherFatherSon) with Tracy Letts (Lady Bird, Ford vs Ferrari), Elle Fanning (Sentimental Value, A Complete Unknown) and Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl, The Naked Gun).
The World Premiere will take place at the Berlin International Film Festival on 14 February 2026 at 7 pm CET.
THE PREMISE
In an opulent villa underneath the Catalonian sun, American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune, eschewing the demands of their blind father, and seeking love and validation through each other and their latest designer clothes. When Jack, the eldest brother and linchpin of this family, announces he is moving in with his girlfriend, Martha, blood ties are severed, and Ed starts to uncover the truth surrounding their mother’s death. Generational lies begin to unravel, and the fabric of this family slowly begins to disintegrate.

Aïnouz is directing from a script written by Efthimis Filippou (Kinds of Kindness, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Lobster). Viola Fügen and Michael Weber are producing ROSEBUSH PRUNING for The Match Factory. Who are also handling worldwide sales for the film. The adaptation rights have been acquired from Kavac Film, and Simone Gattoni of Kavac Film is producing. Annamaria Morelli produces for The Apartment (a Fremantle Company).
Andreas Wentz and Juan Cano “Nono” from Surfilm are co-producing in Spain. Rachel Dargavel for Crybaby is co-producing in the UK. MUBI is financing production along with The Apartment (a Fremantle company). Metafilms, Anna Films and In Bloom. German Federal Film Board. Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Medienboard, and the BFI also funded the film.
