This will be a day long remembered. With the premiere of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord now just days away, Lucasfilm has dropped the episode release guide so fans can plan their watchalong accordingly. Now that all the important dates are revealed, it’s time to plan ahead and make the most of the experience. The series begins with a two-episode premiere on April 6th, followed by two episodes released each week until the big finale on May 4th. But before we unleash the power of the dark side, check out the schedule below.
THE SERIES
Beginning with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ April 6, 2026, and two episodes each week leading to a finale on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord presents fans with a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.
Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is based on Star Wars and characters created by George Lucas. The series is developed by Dave Filoni and Matt Michnovetz. Brad Rau is supervising director. The executive producers are Dave Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Matt Michnovetz, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes. Alex Spotswood is the co-executive producer.
RELEASE
We were lucky enough to have an early look at the series, and although we cannot share our reactions or our reviews for now, fans have tons to look forward to. In the meantime, the studio recently shared the first character posters from the series. First up, we have Maul himself, and rounding out the first duo is Jedi apprentice Devon Izara. Hopefully, this character poster drop will be the first of many. The series is littered with awesome new characters, all of whom deserve their place on a glossy one-sheet. With 10 episodes arriving over five weeks, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord begins with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on April 6, 2026, followed by two episodes each week, culminating in a finale on Star Wars Day, May the 4th.
