There’s blood in the water this August as Jason Statham returns to kick ass once again in the action thriller, Mutiny. Watch the trailer here.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Many of us here at Future Of The Force Towers LOVE us a good old-fashioned Jason Statham action movie. There’s just something about watching him strut his stuff, kick ass, and take names, caring little for the consequences. From his supporting role in Jet li’s The One, his supporting role, stepping up to the main one in The Expendables movies, his dramatic turn in the underrated Blitz, or his outlandishness in The Meg movies. You can enjoy any of those activities without pushing yourselves too hard, even when faced with disappointments.(I’m looking at you, A Working Man, Expen4bles), he gets the job done, entertainment-wise. My favorite happens to be Homefront from 2013.
After hitting screens earlier this year with the acclaimed Shelter, Statham is back again this August. This time, he will be kicking ass, taking names, and ruthlessly slaughtering bad guys on the high seas. His latest movie, Mutiny, will hit theaters on August 21st. Directed by Jean-François Richet, the film delivers another action-packed thrill ride. Lionsgate has today launched the official trailer for the film, alongside the first poster. Time to set sail with The Stath as we take our first look.
See what I mean? This is quintessentially summer blockbuster fare, something that will get the crowds into theaters, entertain them, and give them a brilliantly good time.
THE PREMISE
In MUTINY, after witnessing the murder of his billionaire boss and getting framed for the crime, Cole Reed (Jason Statham) takes action by boarding a cargo ship to avenge his boss’s death. There, he uncovers an international conspiracy that complicates his mission.
THE CAST
Alongside Statham, MUTINY stars Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders, The Mummy), Roland Møller (Land of Mine, Atomic Blonde), Ramon Tikaram (Brassic, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Arnas Fedaravičius (The White Lotus), Jason Wong (Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, The Gentlemen) and Adrian Lester (Hustle, Trigger Point).
CREW
Directed by Jean‑François Richet (Plane, The Emperor of Paris) and written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis, MUTINY unites major action powerhouses, with Jason Statham also producing through his company Punch Palace Productions (The Beekeeper, A Working Man, The Expendables 4), alongside Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures (The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ad Astra, Plane).
The film will also premiere in the United Kingdom on August 21st and on Sky Cinema later this year.
