Two Brothers Pictures, led by Harry and Jack Williams, and Rebellion are adapting the cult post-apocalyptic game, Atomfall, for television. This will be in a UK-Led co-production.
Two Brothers Pictures has announced a television adaptation of Atomfall from Rebellion. The UK‑based post‑apocalyptic survival‑action game won the award for Best British Game at this month’s BAFTA Game Awards. The series will be developed as a co‑production between Two Brothers and Rebellion.
ABOUT THE GAME
Inspired by the real-world Windscale disaster of 1957, Atomfall was created from an original concept by Jason Kingsley CBE. The game delivers a uniquely British perspective on the post-apocalyptic genre. Set within a single Quarantine Zone in the Lake District, this walled, militarized area was established following the nuclear incident. Inside the zone, life has devolved into something much stranger, even though the outside world seems to carry on as usual.
The video game follows a protagonist who wakes up inside the Quarantine Zone with no memory of how they arrived. As they search for a way out, they become entangled in a web of competing factions. Along the way, they encounter an eclectic cast of characters, each with their own agenda. Drawing on the legacy of classic British sci‑fi, with elements of folk horror, Atomfall blends nuclear paranoia with ancient mythology.

Since launch, more than 3.7 million players globally have explored the world of Atomfall, and the game recently won Best British Game at the BAFTA Games Awards 2026. The TV adaptation will expand on the game’s mythology while remaining faithful to its tone, themes, and British roots.
HARRY AND JACK WILLIAMS
Harry and Jack Williams, writers and executive producers of Two Brothers, said:
“Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team – especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers (Jason Kingsley CBE and Chris Kingsley CBE – co-founders of Rebellion). There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television.”
JASON KINGSLEY
Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO and Creative Director, and Chris Kingsley CBE, Co-founder and CTO of Rebellion, are both Executive Producers on the project:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Two Brothers to bring the world of Atomfall to television. Harry and Jack demonstrated a clear love for Atomfall and talked about their own particular endings when they were playing the game. It is always exciting to work with people who share the same passion for creating and telling great stories and we are sure that this partnership will help to deliver a television series that will delight fans of the game and beyond.”

BEHIND THE SERIES
The series will feature Emmy and Golden Globe-winning producers and writers Harry and Jack Williams, known for their work on Fleabag, The Assassin, The Missing, Baptiste, and The Tourist. They will take charge as the writers, while Harry, Jack, and Alex Mercer—who have credits including The Assassin, Maya, The Tourist, and Doctor Who—will serve as Executive Producers for Two Brothers. For Rebellion, Jason and Chris Kingsley (Sniper Elite 1-5, Zombie Army 1-4, Dredd, Schools Out Forever, Rogue Trooper) will Executive Produce alongside Ben Smith (Schools Out Forever, Rogue Trooper).
