Take A Trip To Wildwood As Laika And Black Bear Debut The Teaser Trailer

Travis Knight’s handcrafted epic fantasy Wildwood sees Laika and Black Bear debut a teaser trailer. The film will be in cinemas in October.
Black Bear UK has today unveiled the highly anticipated teaser trailer for Wildwood, from LAIKA Studios, the studio behind Coraline and ParaNorman. This upcoming stop-motion feature film is directed by Travis Knight (Masters of the Universe, Kubo and the Two Strings). It is written by Chris Butler (Masters of the Universe, Kubo and the Two Strings). Additionally, Wildwood will release in UK cinemas on October 23, 2026.
Wildwood is based on the book written by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. Knight is producing alongside Sam Wilson. Fathom Entertainment will handle a wide theatrical release across the United States. Meanwhile, FilmNation Entertainment will represent LAIKA’s Wildwood across international territories.
THE VOICE CAST
The voice cast includes Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Academy Award nominee Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Charlie Day, Blythe Danner, Arthur Knight, Maya Erskine, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Rob Delaney, Jemaine Clement, Marc Evan Jackson, Len Cariou, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. The cast also features Honorary Academy Award recipient and Emmy Award winner Angela Bassett and Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali.
THE PREMISE
After her baby brother gets snatched by a murder of crows, headstrong teenager Prue McKeel dives into a desperate rescue mission in the Impassable Wilderness—an enchanted forest lurking just beyond Portland, Oregon. She teams up with her hapless but loyal classmate, Curtis Mehlberg. As they plunge into a world filled with talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures fueled by grief and ambition, Prue and Curtis confront a conflict that threatens the very balance of the forest. Along the way, Prue must tap into the strength and belief she never knew she had.
If she hopes to save her brother and protect Wildwood’s fragile future, she will have to risk everything. From Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning LAIKA, Wildwood is a sweeping adventure about love, sacrifice, and the magic that reveals itself when we dare to look beyond the familiar.
Wildwood opens in UK cinemas on October 23rd.
