Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN

This week sees two new entries take their places inside the top ten. But what could these new additions be, and where have they entered the chart? Sharpen your knives as we find out.

(1) SCREAM 7

Holding onto the top spot for a second consecutive week, Scream 7 remains at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart. The latest installment in the iconic slasher franchise continues to thrill horror fans with Ghostface’s return, delivering shocking twists, suspenseful set-pieces, and the self-aware terror that has kept the series a genre favorite for decades.

Neve Campbell, left, and Courteney Cox star in Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group’s “Scream 7.”

(2) READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME

A major new entry arrives at Number 2 with Ready or Not 2 – Here I Come. The darkly comic horror sequel continues the deadly chaos of the original, serving up more outrageous violence, twisted family secrets, and high-stakes survival thrills.

(3) AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH

After four consecutive weeks at Number 1, Avatar – Fire and Ash slips to Number 3. James Cameron’s visually spectacular return to Pandora remains one of the year’s biggest film events, continuing to draw audiences with its breathtaking world-building and emotional storytelling.

(4) SHELTER

Holding strong at Number 4, Shelter continues its impressive chart run. The tense drama has built momentum through strong word of mouth, with its emotionally driven story and gripping atmosphere continuing to resonate with viewers.

(5) SEND HELP

Send Help at Number 5 reaches a brand-new peak. The survival thriller keeps audiences on edge with its escalating tension and desperate fight for survival against overwhelming odds.

This week’s second new entry lands at Number 6 with Hoppers. The animated adventure follows a group of animals using futuristic technology to “hop” between species, combining family-friendly humor with heartfelt themes and colorful visuals.

(7) GOAT

GOAT at Number 7 slips one place but continues to perform strongly. The inspiring sports drama remains popular thanks to its uplifting story of ambition, perseverance, and the pursuit of greatness.

(8) THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

Fashion-world favorite The Devil Wears Prada drops to Number 8, though the beloved comedy-drama continues to charm audiences with its sharp wit, iconic performances, and behind-the-scenes look at the demanding world of high fashion.

(9) WUTHERING HEIGHTS

Falling one place to Number 9, Wuthering Heights (2026) remains a strong performer. The sweeping adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic tale continues to attract audiences with its emotionally intense story of love, obsession, and revenge.

(10) 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE

Rounding out the Top 10, 28 Years Later – The Bone Temple drops seven places. Despite the fall, the chilling horror sequel continues to grip viewers with its bleak atmosphere and relentless survival tension.

PREPARE TO EXPERIENCE PROJECT HAIL MARY AT HOME

Hitting PVOD this week is my favorite film of the year so far, Project Hail Mary. To say the film is a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish would be doing it a disservice. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, and Lionel Boyce. It tells the story of Ryland Grace, a school teacher who awakens aboard an interstellar spacecraft with no memory of how he got there. To be honest, all eyes will be drawn to the lovable alien creature, Rocky. The relationship between him and Grace forms the crux of the film and delivers some heartwarming emotion throughout. If you want to get the film early, you can rent it for £15.99 or, like me, buy it early for £19.99.

Can the film topple Ghostface from the top spot next week? To be honest, I hope it does, as the film is incredible. But will it? You know what to do: join me again next week to find out. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
