Dead Man’s Wire
On Feb. 8, 1977, disgruntled real-estate developer Tony Kiritsis (Bill Skarsgård) takes mortgage broker Richard Hall (Dacre Montgomery) hostage with a sawn-off shotgun, wired with a “dead man’s wire” from the trigger to Tony’s own neck. Crime thriller directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk) also starring Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, and Al Pacino.
Available from Friday 5 June, Sky Cinema Premiere & NOW

HIM
HIM centers on a promising young football player (Tyriq Withers), invited to train at the isolated compound of a dynasty team’s aging QB1. The legendary quarterback (Marlon Wayans) takes his protégé on a blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power, and the pursuit of excellence at any cost.

The Plague
In the summer of 2003, at an all-boys summer water polo camp, socially anxious twelve-year-old Ben struggles to fit in amidst a ruthless social hierarchy. When he befriends Eli – a lonely, acne-ridden outcast shunned by the others for allegedly carrying a contagious “plague” – Ben becomes entangled in a cruel, escalating ritual of scapegoating and fear. As the lines between teasing and real harm blur, Ben is forced to confront his own complicity. He must also face the terrifying cost of belonging. This film is a tense, darkly humorous coming-of-age story about masculinity and peer pressure. Furthermore, it explores the horrors that fester when cruelty masquerades as a game.
