Get ready to experience a real movie treat this June. STUDIOCANAL has today announced that COLOURS OF TIME is coming to Home Premiere on 1st June. Moreover, this captivating multi-generational story comes from acclaimed director Cédric Klapisch (Paris, Call My Agent, Rise, The Spanish Apartment).

THE PREMISE

Jumping back and forth from 1895 to 2024, the comedy-drama entwines the birth of modern Paris with the present day. In the present, a group of distant cousins is brought together by an unexpected inheritance. They inherit an abandoned house in rural Normandy, which was once the home of their shared ancestor, Adèle. Together, the newly acquainted relatives begin to dig into the past. As a result, they unearth the fascinating story of a young woman’s coming-of-age in 19th-century Paris and her unique connection to the godfather of the Impressionist movement, Claude Monet.

THE CAST

The film stars Suzanne Lindon (Spring Blossom, Forever Young), Abraham Wapler (Andor, Interrail), Vincent Macaigne (Diary of a Fleeting Affair, The Innocents), Julia Piaton (Love Affair(s), Serial (Bad) Weddings), Zinedine Soualem (September 5, Rise, Paris), Paul Kircher (The Animal Kingdom), Vassili Schneider (The Count of Monte-Cristo), Sara Giraudeau (Bloody Milk, Les Bêtises) and Cécile de France (The French Dispatch, Lady J).

The film had its World Premiere at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. It hit cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 17th April.

MY THOUGHTS

We watched the film just before it hit cinemas, and we immediately fell in love with it. I said in my reaction post:

#coloursOfTime is a wonderfully amusing, dramatic, and fulfilling film that showcases the talents of all involved.

A dual narrative works wonders as the past and present combine into something marvelously uplifting.

A real cinematic treat.”

I can’t recommend this film enough! It masterfully combines various elements to create an experience that feels rewarding, fulfilling, and heartfelt. As you watch, you’ll laugh, get drawn in, feel moments of sadness, and ultimately find yourself falling in love with the film.
