Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 Dominates the Global Box Office for a Third Straight Week with $764 Million Worldwide.
As expected, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 has continued its box office dominance, securing the top spot for a third consecutive week and proving there’s still plenty of playtime left in the toy box. At a time when high-profile releases such as The Mandalorian and Grogu, Masters of the Universe, and Supergirl have struggled to generate the same level of momentum, Woody, Buzz, and the gang have once again reminded audiences why they’ve remained beloved for more than 30 years.
Even the arrival of Minions & Monsters wasn’t enough to end the film’s reign, as Toy Story 5 comfortably held onto the No. 1 spot. With three straight weeks at the top, the animated sequel has firmly established itself as the standout blockbuster of the summer box office so far.
Driven by generations of loyal fans and a new wave of moviegoers, Toy Story 5 continued its blockbuster run with an impressive £5.72 million third weekend at the UK & Ireland box office. The animated sequel has now amassed £37.95 million after just three weeks in cinemas across the market.
Overseas, the film also remained the top draw in North America, earning another $31 million in its third weekend. That strong performance has propelled Toy Story 5 to an outstanding $764 million at the worldwide box office, cementing its status as one of the biggest theatrical successes of the year.

The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same? “Toy Story 5” is directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, produced by Lindsey Collins, p.g.a., and written by Stanton and Harris from a story by Stanton. The film features an original score by Oscar® winner Randy Newman, who returns to score his fifth “Toy Story” feature.
REVIEW
We were fortunate enough to see Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 well ahead of its theatrical release, and it proved to be a fun-filled return to the toy box. In my ★★★☆☆ review, I wrote: “Overall, Toy Story 5 is another well-executed triumph for Pixar. Although characters like Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s toys find themselves sidelined in this outing, the emotionally poignant, resonant storyline, breathtaking visuals, and emotionally charged soundtrack more than make up for any disappointment.
While long-term fans of the franchise may leave disappointed by the criminal lack of screen time dedicated to their old friends, new fans will find themselves swept away by the powerful storyline and colorful characters it introduces. The film is the perfect vehicle to bring in new fans and sell another wave of merchandise that will propagate our pop culture landscape for years to come, and that is welcome to see.” Read my full review here.

RELEASE
What a phenomenal third week for the franchise. Backed by another wave of positive reviews, Disney and Pixar’s fifth adventure has reinforced the series’ reputation as one of the most critically acclaimed animated franchises ever made and one of Disney’s most valuable cinematic properties. Its impressive box-office performance also puts its commercial strength into perspective. In just three weeks, the film has already surpassed the lifetime global total of the original entry in the series.
So, could Toy Story 6 be next? It’s far too early to say. For now, though, audiences will be more than happy to enjoy the latest chapter while it continues its dominant run.
