This November, the titan will be stomping into cinemas once again. The sequel to the Oscar-winning hit, Godzilla Minus Zero, debuts a teaser trailer and poster.
He’s not dead! He’s coming back and rising from the depths! And this November, He will be stomping back into cinemas! Anime Limited and TOHO Global are excited to announce that GODZILLA MINUS ZERO is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to director/screenwriter Takashi Yamazaki’s Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One. It will release exclusively in IMAX and cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Starting Friday, 6th November 2026, you can watch the film there. After the success of the first film (which we at The Future Of The Force Towers completely adored), all eyes are on the sequel. Moreover, the anticipation is rising like the titan himself.
Details about GODZILLA MINUS ZERO are still being kept under wraps. This film marks the first-ever Japanese production. It is also the first Toho-produced Godzilla movie filmed specifically for IMAX. Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor. This comes after the enormous success of 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, which became Anime Limited’s highest-grossing film to date. In fact, it earned over £2.6M at the UK & IRE box office.
GODZILLA MINUS ONE
Godzilla Minus One was a global phenomenon, earning acclaim from critics and the highest box office of a Japan-produced Godzilla film worldwide. The film went on to win Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first Asian film to take home the award. We watched the film twice when it came out: first in color and then in black and white. While we loved both versions, I preferred the black-and-white version. It made me feel I was watching the classic original film from the 1950’s. Although I must admit, I’ve watched the film in both versions many times over since!

A NEAR-SIMULTANEOUS RELEASE
Now part of the TOHO Global family, Anime Limited is joining a worldwide collaboration set to make franchise history, with GODZILLA MINUS ZERO being the first Japan-produced film in the historic franchise to be released near-simultaneously in Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and North America. The film’s release in Japan on 3rd November commemorates “Godzilla Day”, celebrating the anniversary of the original film’s release in 1954, before cinema’s biggest kaiju stomps across cities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond.

GODZILLA MINUS ZERO releases in IMAX and cinemas in Japanese with English subtitles from Friday, 6th November. Sign up for updates at godzillafilm.co.uk.
