There’s No Hiding In The Sea As The Shark Horror Movie Chum Rises To The Surface On Digital Platforms

Starring Alice Eve and directed by Jonathan Zuck, Plaion Pictures is bringing the shark horror movie, Chum, to digital platforms this August.
We here at Future Of The Force Towers LOVE a good old-fashioned shark movie. Whether it’s the classics like Jaws. The enjoyable like Deep Blue Sea and The Shallows, or even the ridiculous like The Meg, and the Sharknado movies (no, really!). We get a kick out of them all. Now, we could be adding another shark movie to our viewing list.
Plaion Pictures is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of the shark horror film, Chum, in the UK! The film will be available across all major digital platforms in the UK from 17th August.
The film, directed by Jonathan Zuck and co-written with Joe Leone, features a talented cast. It includes Alice Eve (known for Star Trek Into Darkness and She’s Out of My League), Eric Michael Cole, Elle Haymond, Sarah Siadat, and Jim Klock. Check out the film’s trailer below. However, beware: the trailer features strong language and graphic depictions of blood.
THE PREMISE
Chum sees a newlywed couple join friends on a Mediterranean yacht excursion, only to find themselves caught between a predatory shark and a psychopathic killer in their midst, transforming a sun-drenched escape into a fight for survival.
THOUGHTS
The film gives off a Dangerous Animals vibe. We adored that film, and we can see ourselves enjoying this one too. Both films feature a twisted fisherman who thinks nothing of feeding his victims to sharks, and both have that creepy vibe that reminds us of the cat-and-mouse feeling of Dead Calm. If the film can pull it off, it could be a cut above the usual shark-themed fare and be more in line with Dangerous Animals and The Shallows.
Chum will surface on digital platforms on August 17th. Beware, there’s blood in the water!
