Claudia (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), an ambitious young bi‑racial lawyer, travels to Jamaica to challenge an inheritance claim made by a local man, Cudjoe East (Sheldon Shepherd), against Oliver Connaught (Jonny Lee Miller), a wealthy white aristocrat. But the case takes an unsettling turn when Claudia discovers that the disputed estate is the very place that has haunted her nightmares: Hope Hill, the Connaught family’s former plantation. As Claudia and Oliver dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing link between the plantation’s brutal past and the injustices still shaping the present.

On the night that British-born boxer Duke Kilroy (Howard Charles) becomes world heavyweight champion, a vicious assault leaves his brother, Calvin, dead. Duke is devastated. In the aftermath, his reaction costs him eight years in a U.S. prison. Upon his release and after having made a sinister discovery, Duke returns home. Produced by Sandpaper Films (The Betrayed Girls, A Deadly American Marriage), this three-part series reframes the Ellie Williams case. It moves beyond a single question of truth or lies. In fact, the series exposes a far wider and more troubling story. The series sheds new light on the Ellie Williams case. In addition, it uncovers accounts from other women in Barrow. These women’s allegations of abuse by a group of predominantly Asian men were dismissed or ignored. Barrow: The Lie That Exposed The Truth also explores how far-right groups have weaponized such cases to fuel outrage and mistrust. Meanwhile, agencies, wary of racism accusations, have often avoided confronting perpetrators’ ethnicity.
Developed and filmed over three years, against the backdrop of a growing national reckoning and public inquiry into grooming, the series is based on extensive access and original research and features survivor testimony and first-time interviews with Ellie Williams’ family. The series is a collaboration with Full Story Films and is inspired by the journalism featured in Sky News’ Unreliable Witness podcast. It centers on women who have faced abuse and have not been taken seriously. It places Barrow in the context of a broader pattern of grooming scandals and confronts the question: why can’t Britain face this issue, and who ultimately bears the consequences?

Hamnet
From Academy Award-winning writer/director Chloé Zhao, Hamnet tells the powerful story of love and loss that inspired the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet. Starring Jessie Buckley in an Oscar and BAFTA-winning role, alongside Paul Mescal and Emily Watson.
The film was, in my opinion, the best film of last year. I said in my five-star review:
“Hamnet is the film of the year. Featuring what should be an Oscar-nominated performance from Jessie Buckley, this is superior entertainment. Words cannot convey what lies in store for the audience who will go and see it. It is a heartbreaking, deeply emotional, tragic, and brilliant piece of filmmaking. Delivering a devastating final sequence and scene, there shouldn’t be a dry eye in the house. It is a shattering experience at times, yet it ends on a note of hopefulness. I never cry at movies. I did here. Due to some deep personal emotion which I will not go into here, it floored me in a way I haven’t been floored by before. It hit me hard while also having me appreciate the chance to experience it with an audience, many of whom were also floored by the film.”

GOAT
From Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, comes GOAT, an original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball - a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”
Our reviewer, Phil Roberts, had great fun with the film, saying in his four-star review:
“Overall, Goat is an absolute blast. The film transcends its formulaic structure to deliver a fresh, energetic underdog story that will have kids roaring with delight as it reaches its inevitable conclusion. With its fresh energy, fantastic voice cast, vibrant palette, stunning animation, and wholly fresh design, the film is a rare gem that will score a slam dunk with families everywhere. The screenplay is sharp and witty, the emotional beats hit home, and the animal-themed comedy is utterly hilarious.”

Based on a true story, two down-on-their-luck musicians (Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson) form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams.
The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie
That’s not all, folks! Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, one of the greatest comedic duos in history, are making their hilarious return in this sci-fi comedy adventure. Porky and Daffy are our unlikely heroes and Earth’s only hope when facing the threat of alien invasion. In this epic buddy-comedy, the characters race to save the world, packed with laugh-out-loud gags and vibrant visuals that have made the Looney Tunes iconic, all presented on a scale never seen before. It’s going to be out of this world!
In my three-star review, I said the film was fun, despite its flaws, saying:
“While not in the same class as the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is still a delightful animated comedy. It is miles better than it has any right to be. It is certainly much better than some of those modern reinterpretations of classic cartoons that appear on TV or streaming services. Instead of being a cash grab or selling the audience short, it gives everyone a great time. The heart of the film is genuine, showing that the filmmakers wanted to recreate and somewhat recapture the magic of those classic days. While they can’t recapture the magic, they have done a brilliant job recreating it. It feels like a film made by fans for the fans. And in this respect, they have accomplished it.”
