The First Trailer For Jumanji: Open World Unleashes The Game World!

Sony Pictures has officially unveiled the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.

Look out, Jumanji fans, because Sony Pictures has officially released the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World. We’ve known for a while that the threequel was heading our way in time for the festive season. But until now, we hadn’t seen any footage from the film that promises to bookend Jake Kasdan’s box office-conquering trilogy. But today, all that changes.

The first trailer delivers everything we’ve come to love about the Jumanji franchise: stampeding rhinos, fearsome thugs, outrageous action, laugh-out-loud comedy, and even a few surprise additions to the cast. So, before we roll the dice for one final adventure, level up and check out the first trailer below.

Once again, the film stars Dwayne Johnson back as Dr. Xander ‘Smolder’ Bravestone, alongside Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, Kevin Hart as Franklin ‘Mouse’ Finbar, and Jack Black as Professor Sheldon ‘Shelly’ Oberon.

SYNOPSIS

“This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final instalment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy. Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.”

CAST & CREW

In addition to returning stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, the film features a strong supporting cast. Returning cast members include Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blaine, Morgan Turner, Bebe Neuwirth, Danny DeVito, Lamorne Morris, Marin Hinkle, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, and Rhys Darby. There are also new additions. These include Brittany O’Grady, Burn Gorman, Dan Hildebrand, and Jack Jewkes.

RELEASE

Despite receiving mixed responses from fans and critics, the rebooted Jumanji saga has been nothing short of a box-office phenomenon. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle swung its way to an astonishing $962 million worldwide, while its follow-up, Jumanji: The Next Level, added another $800 million to the franchise’s impressive tally in 2019.

With those numbers in mind, it’s easy to see why Sony Pictures is rolling the dice on another adventure. The studio will be hoping the latest installment can continue the franchise’s remarkable box office winning streak when it arrives in cinemas this Christmas.

Jumanji: Open World was originally expected to premiere on December 11, 2026. However, given the clash with Dune Part 3 and Avengers: Doomsday, Sony pushed the release back to Christmas Day in the US. The UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
