From the gripping new season of Reacher to blockbuster movie premieres, discover the biggest titles streaming on Prime Video this July.
It’s time for our monthly check-in with Prime Video to see what’s arriving in August 2026. With July’s heatwave spilling over into August, the streamer is rolling out a fresh wave of entertainment to help viewers make the most of those warm late summer evenings. And there is plenty to look forward to.
August’s lineup features an exciting mix of new releases, returning favorites, and a packed schedule of live sports, giving subscribers no shortage of reasons to tune in throughout the month. So, whether you’re searching for your next binge-worthy series, a blockbuster film, or must-watch sporting action, now is the perfect time to update your watchlist. Let’s take a closer look at everything coming to Prime Video this August.
NEW RELEASES
After delighting fans with a return to the Legally Blonde universe with Elle, you might be forgiven for thinking that Prime Video would be taking its foot off the accelerator. Thankfully, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The streamer’s August lineup is packed with fresh entertainment, offering subscribers another strong month of original programming and highly anticipated releases.
Leading the charge are new titles such as Sterling Point and the true crime special, An Amputation Obsession: The Monster and the Surgeon, both of which add even more variety to an already impressive summer slate. However, for many viewers, the biggest draw may be a reunion with Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher in Season 4 of Reacher. The third season of the hit series was a landmark slice of TV gold, so fans will be eagerly awaiting new adventures with the muscled hero. Plus, with Neagley expanding the world of Reacher in September, there’s plenty to look forward to from Lee Child’s biggest export.

AVAILABLE TO RENT OR BUY
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. August also brings a wave of major digital releases, giving subscribers the chance to catch up with some of the year’s biggest cinematic successes from the comfort of home. The month starts with Universal’s exciting animated sequel, Minions & Monsters, a film our reviewer called “a joyous love letter to both the franchise and the magic of Hollywood itself. Bursting with laugh-out-loud comedy, clever Easter eggs, dazzling animation, and the trademark chaos that audiences have come to expect, the film is a celebration of everything that makes the Minions so enduringly popular.”
Next up, fans can look forward to fun and frolics with Ghost Face in Scary Movie 6 and swooping in the air with DC’s Supergirl. And wrapping up the month’s big releases is the absolutely chilling Evil Dead Burn. We had an early look at this gloriously intense return to the Evil Dead sandbox and rated it as one of the year’s biggest disappointments.
FLAWLESS SPIELBERG!
In our review of Evil Dead Burn, our reviewer, Carl Roberts, said: “Despite great directing from Sébastien Vaniček and a brave and enjoyable screenplay by himself and Florent Bernard, Evil Dead Burn, while being nasty, violent, gory, and scary, feels like a step back from the previous film. Something is missing, and it suffers from a lack of depth. While the film is good enough to be a larger part of the Evil Dead franchise, and a good attempt at being a standalone film set in the same universe, it comes across as inferior.” Read his full review here.
So, grab your snacks and settle in for a month full of fresh entertainment on Prime Video!
