Maika Monroe is a Victorian Psycho as True Brit Entertainment releases the new trailer for the upcoming horror thriller.
This year, we’ll get the chance to meet a Victorian Psycho, based on Virginia Feito’s novel. Directed by Zachary Wigon, the film is a horror thriller featuring a screenplay written by Feito herself. It features Maika Monroe in the lead role of Winifred Notty, an eccentric governess at a remote gothic manor in England. She replaces Margaret Qualley, who exited the film before production. Also starring Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Isaacs, Amy De Bhrún, Ruth Wilson, Jacobi Jupe, and Evie Templeton, the film looks to be a chilling psychological horror movie. Moreover, it promises more than its fair share of blood and violence. True Brit Entertainment has released the new trailer for the film. Prepare yourselves as we meet a real Victorian Psycho.
THE PREMISE OF THE FILM
When eccentric governess Winifred arrives at a remote gothic manor in Victorian England, her unnerving charm hides a deadly secret. Strange, unsettling incidents become harder to ignore as Winifred descends into madness, and her increasingly brutal acts shatter the calm of the estate. How far will this psycho killer go, and who will survive her wrath?
Just by looking at the trailer, we can see we are in for a shockingly good time. After watching it, I don’t feel that confident in the Lamb Family’s chances of surviving to the end credits. But the film has an ace up its sleeve with Maika Monroe in the lead. The actress has a great track record with horror and thrillers, such as Longlegs and It Follows (also with the upcoming sequel, They Follow), so hopes are high that the film will be another success for her.
Victorian Psycho will open in cinemas later this year.
