It’s Blanka VS. Ryu, Jason Momoa VS. Andrew Koji as Paramount Pictures delivers a K.O with a special look at the upcoming Street Fighter.
Oh, the memories! The reminder of those days from long ago, when my brother and I used to hit the arcades wherever we could and play the video games on offer. One of our favorites was Street Fighter. The hours (and cash) we spent on playing were all worth it. Of course, the game hit consoles eventually, causing us both to miss hours of sleep by playing the game for hours, only to discover we’d actually been playing all night! We even went to the movies to see the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie from the 1990s (not our finest hour), but we always seemed to go back to the game, even after months away from it.
Now, though, we have even more reason to relive our (much) younger days. Hitting screens in October is the big-budget reboot of Street Fighter. The film, based on the legendary Capcom game, looks to be a winner, one that will K.O the box office opposition. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, it features an all-star cast, including Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog, David Dastmalchian as Bison, and Jason Momoa as Blanka. Paramount Pictures has given us a treat that is a knockout on its own. They have released a special look at the film featuring Blank VS. Ryu. Let’s sit back and take a look.
Ok, so that looks SERIOUSLY cool!
THE PREMISE
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!
Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters.

Based on the Capcom game, with a screenplay from T.J Fixman and Kitao Sakurai, from a story by Dalan Musson and Gary Daubman, the film also features Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Joe ” Roman Reigns” Anoai as Akuma, Andrew Schultz as Dan Hibiki, Eric Andre as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe. With Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Takayuki Nakayama, and Stefan Makhoul as producers, and JJ Hook, Jay Ashenfelter, Kenzo Tsujimoto, and Haruhiro Tsujimoto as executive producers, the film could be something that will entertain us and become a knockout success at the box office.
Street Fighter will FIGHT! at the cinema when it opens in October. PERFECT!
