In 1976, novelist Anne Rice created her arguably best and most famous creation, Interview With The Vampire. Although it received mixed critical reception, it spawned a legacy of novels collectively known as The Vampire Chronicles. In 1994, a film adaptation of the book was released in cinemas. Now, thirty-two years later, it is back. Interview with the Vampire will be available for purchase on 4K UHD Blu-ray and SteelBook on October 5. The film features an all-star cast led by Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. In addition, it was directed by Academy Award winner Neil Jordan (The Crying Game). The newly remastered film will also include new bonus content. Additionally, it features filmmakers reflecting on the making of the film over 30 years later.
Based on the blockbuster novel of the same name by Anne Rice, the film features an all-star ensemble cast, including Academy Award winners Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, Academy Award nominees Antonio Banderas, Stephen Rea, and Kirstin Dunst, along with Christian Slater. The film was nominated for Best Original Score and Best Art Direction at the 67th Academy Awards.
THE PREMISE
In late 20th-century San Francisco, a 200-year-old vampire shares his story with a young reporter. He recounts his experiences of desire, love, yearning, grief, terror, and ecstasy, weaving together the history that would become known as Interview with the Vampire.
