Over the years, there have been many outrageous and self-knowing comedies that surprise us and have us rolling in the aisles with laughter. Of course, many of these have a strong story. In addition, they usually have an emotional pay-off by the end credits. But are you prepared for a comedy about the couple’s thing about a celebrity sex pass? You know, the one where a partner is allowed to cheat with a celebrity of their choice? You need to be because one is opening in the UK this September.
Gail Daughtry And The Celebrity Sex Pass is that film. Directed by David Wain, the film stars Zoey Deutch as Gail Daughtry. After catching her fiancé taking advantage of his sex pass, Gail goes all out to sleep with hers-Jon Hamm. Take a look at the trailer for the film below. Just from the look of the trailer, we can see we could be in for some side-splitting laughs throughout the film. It looks to be madcap, funny, highly improbable, but hugely entertaining.
THE PREMISE
In the charming town of Willowbrook, Kansas, hairdresser Gail Daughtry is engaged to her devoted high school sweetheart, Tom. Her life takes a turn when a trip to a book signing leads to Tom meeting – and sleeping – with his “celebrity pass.” Reeling from the betrayal, Gail impulsively joins her friend Otto on a trip to Los Angeles. There, a psychic convinces Gail that the only way to save her marriage is to “even the scales” with her own celebrity pass: Jon Hamm. Thus begins an epic journey through Tinseltown as Gail and Otto join forces with a talent agency assistant, a paparazzo, and actor John Slattery. Together, they search for Hamm. Along the way, they collide with celebrities and are hunted by a group of Italian assassins. Ultimately, they get ever closer to finding the elusive star.
