This weekend at the UK box office, Spider-Man maintained its lead and is now the highest-grossing film of the year so far. The Odyssey continues to hold audiences, while newcomers Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie and Ice Cream Man struggle to perform. Read on to find out the final numbers at the UK box office!
(1) Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Swinging in for a second weekend total of £12,048,459, Spider-Man: Brand New Day drops a harsh 67% from its opening. This compares favorably against Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021, which dropped 86% from its opening. The previous Marvel Studios movie, Fantastic Four: First Steps, dropped 62%, similar to Brand New Day.
But this should be put into context of the film’s huge opening, and the fact that Brand New Day is the overall top-grossing UK film with a total of £65,067,504, meaning that audiences have flocked to it throughout the week. It’s a stunning success, and one that will continue throughout the month.
(2) The Odyssey
The Odyssey is also a stunning box office success. It brought in another £5,271,814 in its fourth weekend of release, and had a soft drop of 23% from the previous weekend. Its total has climbed to £61,501,212, placing it second behind Brand New Day in terms of overall gross. It has outgrossed Christopher Nolan’s previous movie, Oppenheimer, and is now his best-performing movie in the UK.
(3) Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie opened to £1,672,975, which is unfortunately about half of the total the previous Paw Patrol movie, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, opened to in October 2023 – £3,348,155. This is likely due to poor release timing, as there are not only three other family films at the box office but also Spider-Man. Back in October 2023, The Mighty Movie had no competition for the family audience.
(4) Toy Story 5
Toy Story 5 continues to be a mainstay at the UK box office, with it pulling in a total of £728,851 in its eighth weekend of release. Its total is £53,938,340, meaning it will struggle to outgross the unadjusted-for-inflation total of Toy Story 4, released in 2019, which is £66.2 million. But whether it does or not, Toy Story 5 has proven to be a box-office success, getting kids to turn off their screens and go to the cinema.
(5) Minions & Monsters
Now in its sixth weekend of release, Minions & Monsters pulls in a total of £538,976. The film has grossed £16,066,813 overall, far below its predecessors in a disappointing turn of events.
(6) Andre Rieu’s 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht! (Concert)
Opening at number six, Andre Rieu’s 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht! concert movie pulled in £499,762. This film sees André Rieu celebrate the 20th anniversary of his iconic summer concerts on the Vrijthof square in the Netherlands. Viva Maastricht! is a joyful tribute to the city where it all began.
(7) Moana
Dropping to number seven, Moana only managed to pull in £464,054 in its fifth weekend of release. Its total is now above £11 million, at £11,853,972, in what will be a very disappointing take for this live-action adaptation.
(8) Ice Cream Man
Eli Roth’s latest horror film, Ice Cream Man, unfortunately isn’t benefiting from the horror buzz at the box office, as it opened to £308,198. This is not a great start, especially as it’s number eight, meaning it will drop out of the top ten in short order.
(9) The Invite
The Invite came in with a weekend gross of £142,058 in its sixth weekend of release. Its overall gross is £3,821,768.
(10) Obsession
Staying in the top ten for one final weekend, Obsession pulled in another £92,697 in its 13th weekend of release. Its overall total, £19,631,351, will likely surpass £20 million, a fantastic result for the indie horror film.
Next weekend sees the opening of The End of Oak Street, bringing more dinosaurs to the box office.
